Not all grinders are created equal. There are a few things to keep in mind when you are looking to purchase one of your own. 1. Blades! It is important to have sharp blades, always check the quality of the blades before you buy a grinder. Make sure they are sharp, strong, and have no flaky metal pieces that could chip off into your bud, Pyramid blades are ineffective, and so are pegs. They gum up easily and jam quickly. 2.Materials! Metal grinders are far superior to plastic grinders. Period. 3. Stages Vs Single. Some people hate crystal catchers, and 3 staged grinders. The advantage of having a staged grinder is the broken up product has somewhere to go, making it easier to bust up larger quantities. 4. Crystal catchers. Make sure the mesh is not too big, but not too small either. Also make sure it is well secured into the grinder and does not move or come out easily. 5. Basic is better. They have all kinds of hand grinders with fancy cranks, vibrating bits, pushy buttons, you name it. All these little features cost extra and do little to enhance the performance. In fact, sometimes the extra features impede the ability to effectively grind materials.
